The National Flight Academy takes a hands-on approach to teaching the principles of science, technology, engineering and math while reaching beyond the ordinary academic experience. We’re creating an immersive environment that gives kids a sense of accomplishment while they learn critical skills they’ll be able to apply throughout their lives.
Middle and high school students spend one week undergoing an intensive training course that combines classroom fundamentals with hands-on experiences. In this high-tech adventure like none other, students join a squadron and immediately begin missions based on real-world experiences.
Fast-paced, aviation-based missions test students on a wide-range of topics, from basic three-dimensional physics and motion to more advanced concepts of aeronautical engineering and propulsion systems. These missions all play into enhancing the students’ education of science and math criteria, ultimately enriching their understanding of STEM principles.
Preparing your child for tomorrow’s global challenges
Designed as aviation-based lesson plans by measuring, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data, students will become fundamentally aware of the integration of mathematics and science into their daily lives. Florida Sunshine State Standards, as well as National Benchmarks, will be addressed in both mathematics and science for each core curriculum.
It’s a proven concept that will enrich the lives of the young people who participate by better preparing them for the challenges they face in tomorrow’s world.
